The arrival of the Gods in the Andes
From 23rd November 2012 to
10th March 2013
The Peruvian civilisation is one of the oldest in the world. The recent archaeological discoveries certify that the societies of the central part of the Andes mountain range erected monumental ceremonial buildings as of the 4th millenium BC. Chavín, which is considered as the major culture of all the Andes civilisations, marked the life of this territory in the 2nd and 1st2ndcenturies BC. In close collaboration with Peru and some renown archaeologists from all over the world, the Rietberg Museum presents the latest archaeological discoveries of the country and the first exhibition ever realised on the Chavín site.
